Students of each grade are in “Dens” of about eight scouts per den. We meet each week through the school year to complete an “Adventure.”
Each month, every den comes together with all of the other dens for a larger activity. Examples include camp outs, swimming, fishing, and similar activities as pack events.
Our pack hosts a camp out every May and September. Each Den will also attend Summer camp every June.
The mission of Scouting America (Formerly the Boy Scouts of America) is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
We are a Cub Scout Pack located in south Blue Springs, Missouri. We offer a vibrant weekly program for students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Our activities are centered around development and fun in the following areas:
We accomplish this through weekly “Adventures” centered on these topics. Weather permitting, many activities can be completed outdoors, including field trips throughout the community.
Our scouts primarily attend Cordill-Mason Elementary and Timothy Lutheran Elementary schools although we do have scouts from five different schools attend our pack.
We welcome anyone to join our pack although we encourage everyone to visit the pack associated with their own elementary school first.
Each Den is a group of scouts of the same age and grade. Typically, we try to have each Den Have about 8-10 scouts. A den will meet each week to perform activities called “Adventures.”
In our pack, we have a schedule where every parent assists in a rotation to lead the adventure. For a Den of 8 scouts, each parent typically leads 2-3 activities over the course of the year.
When the six Required adventures plus two elective adventures are completed, the scout will have achieved the rank and will get to wear the rank patch on their uniform. We typically target the end of January for all scouts to achieve their rank requirements.
Once each scout has completed their rank requirements, we continue pursuing the elective adventures.
The dark highlighted adventures for each rank are new for 2024!
Archery, BB Guns, and Slingshots are completed at Summer camp.
At Cub Scout Pack 175, our pack meetings are key. They bring scouts, families, and leaders together. We celebrate achievements, learn new skills, and grow closer. These monthly events do more than award badges. They also let scouts share projects, enjoy education related to scouting, and do community service. For parents, the meetings are a chance to connect with leaders, learn about upcoming events, and help the pack grow. We aim to create a supportive, active environment. This helps every scout succeed and feel valued within the pack.
In addition to Pack Meetings we have several regular activities which take place every year which include:
Our scouts attend five area elementary schools.
Our annual dues are competitive with area sporting leagues. The fees cover our standard weekly program. In addition we offer additional opportunities including Summer Camp, Sporting Events, and other pack activities.
We participate in a variety of community activities which include Scouting for Food, Conservation projects, and similar community service activities.
We host a variety of activities in Blue Springs and the surrounding areas throughout the year.
Joining Pack 175 is easy. We encourage you to visit for 2-3 meetings and get to know us.
When you’re ready we will have you complete a membership application. As you submit this you will pay National Dues.
Once your application has been accepted we will collect Pack Dues and you can participate in Den and Pack activities.
We will give you a pack T-Shirt and you can wear a Blue Field Uniform.
We welcome the opportunity to partner with local businesses.
Our Pack values parent involvement. Shared experiences strengthen family bonds. Thus, we encourage parents to join their children. We are not a “Drop and Drive” pack. Our families’ engagement is key.
Each family, in turn, leads an adventure every den meeting. With 8 families in a den, anticipate leading an adventure once every 8 weeks. Smaller dens more frequently, larger dens less frequently.
Our goal is to have dens with about 8 scouts each.
Parental presence ensures safety and fun. Parents must attend all events and stay close to their child. Usually, this means being in the same room.
To support our parents in their roles, we offer various training opportunities, including:
These training sessions provide valuable skills and knowledge that enhance the scouting experience for both parents and children.
Join us in creating memorable adventures and fostering lifelong bonds within our Pack!
